Cabbage Salad with Apples and Carrots
Cabbage salad goes with just about anything. Try this refreshing cabbage salad recipe for a quick side dish or take it to your next pot luck.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon sunflower seeds
1 tablespoon orange juice
8-10 oz green cabbage, finely shredded
2 apples, grated
6 ounces carrots, peeled and grated
1 tablespoon sunflower oil
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon fresh basil leaves, chopped
Directions:
In a small bowl combine the orange juice and sunflower seeds. Allow to soak in the refrigerator for about an hour.
In a large bowl whisk together the vinegar, honey, sunflower oil and basil. Add finely shredded cabbage and toss to coat. Fold in the grated apples and carrots. Add the soaked sunflower seeds, gently toss the cabbage salad and chill to allow the flavors to blend.
